  • Aerodrome

    A threshold located at a point on the runway other than the designated beginning of the runway.

    A vehicle used to guide aircraft to their parking positions on the apron.
  • Ground Control
    A service provided for the purpose of preventing collisions on the maneuvering area and of expediting and maintaining an orderly flow of traffic.

  • Manoeuvring Area
    That part of an aerodrome to be used for the take-off, landing and taxiing of aircraft, excluding aprons.
  • Marshaller
    A person on an airport who directs the movement of aircraft on the ground.
  • Movement Area
    That part of an aerodrome to be used for the take-off, landing and taxiing of aircraft, consisting of the maneuvering area and the aprons.
  • Passenger Boarding Bridge
    An enclosed, elevated passageway that extends from an airport terminal gate to an airplane, allowing passengers to board and disembark without going outside.
  • PAPI
    Precision Approach Path Indicator. A visual aid that provides guidance information to help a pilot acquire and maintain the correct approach to an airport.
  • Ramp
    An inclined track for loading and unloading

    A vehicle used to refuel aircraft.

    A defined rectangular area on a land aerodrome prepared for the landing and take-off of aircraft.

    Visual Approach Slope Indicator. A system of lights on the side of an airfield runway threshold that provides visual descent guidance information during approach.

    Turbulence that forms behind an aircraft as it passes through the air.
